I am surprised there is no Zenith that is not batshit insane and has a deep, philosophical perspective with actual compassion. Not every wealthy person is insane, unethical or straight up evil and egotistical. Arrogant perhaps, but, not one? A Zenith ally would be essential right now. Honestly, I hope we get a Zenith just walking around helping tribes, waiting for Aloy or her companions to seek help but also prove they are of no threat.

In real life what is going to kill most folks directly in terms of climate crisis is wet bulb heat events. At some point the heavy AC use in a major city in the world will cause a power outage during a heat wave and when the heat and humidity reach a certain point it will kill most of the people in the city. Essentially, the climate only needs reach a tiny margin above average before a single power outage will be enough to kill everyone in downtown nevada, etc. This will likely happen within the next 10 years in real life, and horizon’s story is absolutely the most grounded depiction of it i’ve seen.

Why would faro make his machine self replicate, wouldn't that lower his profits? Seem like a dumb corporate decision.

Exactly! It really bothers me, when some people claim, that Horizon has a plot hole, because Aloy "can stop an apocalypse with a bow and arrow" and the modern humans couldnt. When the Fero plague destroyed the world, humans were battaling a constantly reproducing swarm of robots. Its explicitly said that when Faro contacted Elizabeth, it already was to late to do anything, because the swarm was already reproducing at a huge rate. The robots strength was never the problem, because if we really look at them, then they're not that strong to beat. The humans were able to destroy many of them, but they were not losing because they couldnt destroy them, but because they basically got overrun. What was the key point was their numbers. Aloy was only fighting already existing robots. Robots that were burried and rotting for centuries, which had limited access to ammunition and resources. And crucially: not producing new ones! Of corse they were easier to beat than the swarm back in the days.

Fun fact, this script is between 80% to 90% AI generated according to many different detection algorithms. What gave it away, the word "Delve" (as well as the odd writing style)

Three predictions I am certain will happen in Horizon III: 1. Aloy will travel across the sea to the Quen Capital which will be the main location for the game. There will also be a Rebel uprising where Aloy will have to join or even lead to bring down the Quen Emperor. 2. Nemesis will take on multiple forms (kind of like Ultron) where it will have an android body but as the game progresses, becomes a more hulking and monstrous machine. 3. Aloy and Seyka will reunite. Aloy will struggle with trying to balance saving the planet and her feelings for Seyka. But she will get some advice and encouragement from Talanah.

I just took a look at your videos and realized you didn't make any devoted videos to the other lore side quests in Forbidden West. The Holiday Projectors, the Miriam Vistas, or the Black Boxes. I know they aren't as complete as the Burning Shores Aerial Captures but they each give a good view of what the old world was like before everything ended. The projectors were pretty funny and the Tenakth commitment to preserving and sharing the last words from the flight recorders was a heartening conclusion.

Just finished Forbidden West and Burning Shores. Based on the situation as presented at the end of that game, plus the information in datapoints and Brin's warning, I theorize VS will be a complex character and a major source of conflict in the third game (maybe even the active antagonist, since Nemesis can't affect the plot actively while being an angry ball in space), but will eventually be absorbed into GAIA's heuristic matrix as a replacement for HADES in order to give GAIA the density she needs to coordinate a massive battle against Nemesis.

So, if the Chariot line were both unhackable but able to hack all other machines... and the goal was to buy time, why not release opposing plagues in sacrificial regions? They would arguably be bigger threats than the humans, and could eventually match production?

In the HFW datapoint World #2 Eyes to the Heavens, the message reads “-November Special! We’re getting ready for our 2059 Annual viewing of the abandoned Odyssey spacecraft as it follows its orbital path above the Western Grand Array”. How can this be if the Odyssey never in fact blew up? Is this an early version that was scrapped and launched into orbit for some reason?

I liked Bileguts and Stingspawn a lot but Waterwings are easily one of the worst machines in the series. I get that Burning Shores was rushed, but it never should have been. Waterwings are just Sunwings with a different head, wing texture, and like 4 swapped components. Diving underwater is cool but it needed to be a completely different machine.

Forbidden West was a massive step-up from the first game in every single way. The third game just needs to be Forbidden West with some new stuff thrown in and it'll be perfect.

The thing is Faro isn't stupid. The kind of things he did reveals he was quite intelligent. It seems the problem was he was narcissistic to an almost sociopathic degree. With his cowardice being the only thing keeping him from stepping over the line. Every time he screwed up big it was because he felt, at that time, he could get away with whatever bad idea he had. So long as someone could keep him accountable he made good decisions. But once that barrier was gone he would just go off the deep end and become utterly consummed with his vainglory. This is why Faro is irredeemable. It wasn't like he was an idiot who somehow was promoted way beyond his ability to function. He could operate at those levels just fine. He was just so fundamentally flawed in his character that he would always do the wrong thing when allowed to direct his own course. Can't even excuse it by saying he was a fool. It wasn't a lack of wisdom but a lack of self-restraint that made his bad decisions inevitable

I was replaying ZD again and went back to talk to CYAN after finishing all my side quests and she says that whatever subfunction that's in charge of plants probably made the metal flowers, so def DEMETER

God the storytelling in this game is literally peak. It’s just all laid out there almost perfectly for u. Only real confusing thing is the timeline between the zeniths return and nemesis chasing and them arriving all tht. But this game rlly is peak

Story line is horseshit. They could have destroyed all building machine and then deal with the rest. Machines were designed to resist a small, corporate armies. Against the entire earth they would fall.

I predict the Ancient Ghost in the east is the original creator AI that was the starseed that began all life on Earth as a home for humans. The “East” being referenced is the cradle of humankind in east Africa. The AI is an advcanced biological AI that is using Nemesis as a weapon to wipe out the earth as it is viewed by the AI as an abomination. The AI is like a gardener that seeks out and destroys weeds in the universal garden that has been seeded with life. The AI is revealed to be the “Great Filter” that explains the Fermi paradox. I think the introduction of our “Creator” presents the games writers with an interesting opportunity to introduce religious and mythological references, as well as a plethora of mythological beasts and even gods, either as machines, biological entities, or software/AI. Also, this is mental, but imagine a God of War cross-over somehow lol.

8:22 That data point will always remain the biggest plot hole. They could've shuttled as much tech, fuel and soil as possible and ten times the entire ZD staff to the dark side of the moon. Instead of investing 18 months into a single high-risk shot at cranking out a super-advanced terraforming AI, they could've lived on, formed families, had children and reclaimed Earth step by step, showing up at their 9-to-5s, five days a week, wearing Spongebob pajamas, with zero risk of something going horribly wrong and dooming life forever. There is no explanation at all, how exactly that would've been "unfeasible". They could've printed like 200 square miles of greenhouses underground or done hydroponics. They were _mining asteroids,_ bro. They were _mining asteroids._

One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention: at the end of ZD when Aloy purges HADES, she is transported to some kind of virtual space where HADES and the Alpha clearance are represented as independent beings. The same thing happens again when she deletes HADES in FW. It's unclear how this happens: maybe the AI's storage module has some advanced VR interface that directly interacts with the human brain without needing an external device, or maybe it supercharges the focus, which is already designed to interact with the user's visual cortex. Whatever the case, we see that a powerful AI can create an experience that would be easy to mistake for a religious vision. The same may have happened to Banukai, or Brin, and in both cases the consumption or attachment of machine parts to their bodies would serve to artificially strengthen the connection temporarily.

Frankly speaking.... the way you describe the Quen, it really does sound like China. With the devine mandate, and the fear that dissent causes instability. Along with the tight control of information (for its population)... Great delta could describe many parts of Asia, anywhere between India, Bangladesh and into China, depending what they game designers do with the landscape.

I thought that the Quen were based off the yellow river delta, since Quen is similar to similar to Chinese phonetics, and while cradle facilities brought diverse backgrouds, information was still chinese centirc in nature, such knowledge central and large infrastructural societies such as Qin or Xin dynasties

I bought my sister the Tallneck lego as a gift having no idea what it was. After she built it, I thought it looked cool and asked her to explain. Since that day, I've beaten Zero Dawn and DLC to 100% completion, beat Forbidden West twice, and DLC. Now working on getting 100% completion. Thank you so much for doing all this work. I want to repay both games AGAIN after understanding everything.
